| Maybe so but 5,300 is not excatly great given the circumstancs surrounding the game and given the locality of the traveling away support.
When you compare this to the 5,500 at cas today and the fact that the away support was maybe 40 (fair play for coming all that way on Sunday) it would suggest core support is clearly in Cas's favour yet we are being touted as the club to drop down a league.
Expansion for the sake of expansion - explain to me how this is a benefit to British Rugby league

So given that most Saints fans generally agree they brought about 1000 fans, Cas managed just over 1000 more with how many years head start?
I can understand your frustrations at staring down the barrel of the gun but given your overall average is only 900 more than Crusaders it's hardly that compelling when you've been around 81 years more is it?

Our crowds have gone down this year, time will tell if yours does, but expansion teams dont have a good record on this...Quins,Paris,Gateshead etc. When the special offers, and free tickets to locals end that will be a good time to judge.
Ps. congrats on your season though.

| Your actual average home gate (per the attendances given on Sporting life) is 4,705 compared to 6,616 at Cas. That would actually be 1,910 difference but hey who's counting the extra 1,000
However if you consider that your first game was the super league launch and against Leeds at home and every man and his dog was given a ticket one may argue that this somewhat distorts the average. If this is removed the average attendance falls to 4,236.
Now one for fair comparason if cas knock out their highest attendance the avegare is 6,459 which actually changes the difference to 2,224.
So on that above not convinced how you get to the 900 difference.
Again dont let fact cloud your judgement at all.
Plus a number of games the official attendance has been revised once annonced over the PA system. For example the Cas game at neath (all so Quins) went from 450 odd to nearer 1500. Where the 500 fans disappeared to i dont know - its quite a lot of ticket stubs to suddenly lose.

| Quote Traffic="Traffic"Quote Traffic="the_grobs"Well I'm watching!!! Your place is supposed to hold 15,500 and there is a strong St's support present yet the ground is still less than half full. So as I said earlier, your increased support this year is visiting support.
Hence credit to the travelling support...a statement which isn't reciprocated for your away games sadly!'"
Actually licensed to hold 10,000 but don't let the truth hold you back.'"
If we want to get picky it is actually 10.5K not 10K!! But whats another 500 empty seats between friends? 15.5K was from Wiki.
Making a 10.5K stadium look half empty is even worse than the same for a 15.5K stadium.
Any way as per my original post it was a long way off the 10K that one of your other pals was spouting on about!

| I do accept that i misread your post and indeed it said Overall
However, why would OVERALL attendances make any difference as to any of the teams battling for a franchise.
Why should it be of any issue to cas if at an away game the home team can only bring say 1000 to the game and the remainder of the 1500 be from the away team (example not actual numbers)
If Crusaders are unable to market a game so as to only bring a handful of supporters why would this show badly on cas.
The only thing cas can have any control over is how many fans come to their game at the Jungle. They should not be told that there attendances are only average because of poor home support from the teams they visit.
What your argument says is that basically we look great and are getting better not because of our own support but because other teams have good home support and make us look better. Where is the sense in that.
Further to this i again cant agree the avearge number you have come up with. From Sporting life the average attendance accross all games involving cas is 7,265 where as the corresponding value for Crusaders is 6,097 - is a difference of 1,168.
Once again dont let numerical evidence cloud an argument

Straight forward comparison of like for like, takes all the home game arguments out given that we didn't play Quins or Cas at Wrexham they were on the road games at Neath and you cannot legislate for away fans. Given you have the two derby games against Wakey in your figures and any other rivalries which we've yet to build it doesn't exactly show your attendances miles ahead does it?

| How on earth can you exclude certain games such as those arranged in Neath. That was your clubs choice to play those games and as a result your clubs resposibility to arrange marketing to attract the fans into the ground. It was a home fixture and therefore counts on the average number for attendances
The only way to get a fair comparasion is to base the average simply on all home fixtures divided by the number of games. Excluding games simply distorts figures and does not give by any means a fair comparsion.
Should we remove all the attendances against Wakefield, leeds, Bradford? In which case shall we remove close games such as Warrington, St helens etc.
Remember lies, dam lies and stats

| Further more those numbers dont actually work the total divided by the number of games played does not give the average.
Given this i can only assume there is an element of Edinburgh in there which could be distored which ever way you wish.
either that or i am missing something.

I haven't discounted Neath I've simply used the RL fans statistics for all games involving Crusaders nothing more nothing less.
