League super league?
Sounds a bit special to me. I can see the reasoning behind it though. That feeling of frustration you get when you realise the person you are talking to has no idea that there are 2 types of rugby, is far too common!

Yes I agree, but replacing it with "league" isn't going to improve the situation. I mean yeah, there are two rugbys, but there are millions of leagues!

Because there are a lot more obvious differences between field hockey and ice hockey than there are between rugby league and rugby union. |

I wouldn't be adverse to dropping the word 'rugby' at all, and refer to the sport as 'league' most of the time anyway.

Leave them to it. RL fans have just as much right as RU fans to refer to the game as rugby, and vice-versa. |
