| Quote Fatboys Limb="Fatboys Limb"The fact that it was an accident doesn't mean that it wasn't assault.
Unless the officer concerned had a lawful reason to come into contact with your son any contact made, regardless of how slight, whether resulting in injury or not, can be considered assault.
As much as I hate the Amercan-esque litigation culture that's developing in this county, I think you're being very reasonable in simply asking for an apology.
More importantly than anything in this situation though, I hope the little fella is OK.'"
There were lots of pushing and shoving witch i accept and will accept an appoligy from the officer, even though his whole atittude stank at the time.
Yeah he werent injured just shuck up a little, but he is saying that he dont wanna go to salford monday, tryin to perswade him though, but still think im gonna be there by myself monday, thanks for concern
He just hasnt seen anything like that before, been takin him to games since he was a baby, my wife is dubious about goin to another game and she attends half of the games played by salford, both home and away, but she aint sure now, she says things could have been alot worse, and he could have been realy hurt.
Me bein brought up in moss side and hulme have seen serious incidents, so it dont bother me, what happend didnt even warrent a police intervention but haho.
Anyway back on topic and enough of my life story ( novel )
But will try and get them there monday with a promise to a visit to the club shop for some new gear and another rugby ball, oh and a hot dog, cant get away with chocolate as its easter today and they have more chocolate than cadburys

Phone the club, explain what's happened, see of they can arrange for your wee one to meet Ignito pre-match or something like that to make it a more enjoyable experience for him?

| TallRed - I hope you do get the apology and also that your lad is not permanently put off going to Rugby League - It would be good if some of the mindless idiots who started the trouble read all this, but somehow I doubt it!

| Glad to hear you made a complaint about the Police Tall Red, however wouldn't expect much to be done given how they're now allowed to treat people attending big sports events.

He will bouse back alright bf, kids soon forget what happend, or get over it, i used to watch warrington as a kid, and remember goin to a fetherston game and getin kicked and punched and my wire flat cap gettin nicked in the toilet block by adults, i didnt go to a game for ages after that, but you cant stay away from the greatist game on earth to long, then we moved from warrington to manchester and started watchin salford as that was our nearest team, and the rest is history, much to the dispare from much of my family and now im salford till i die
The whole family will be back soon im sure, well i certainly hope so anyway.

unless it is Yawnian or Cricket where the Police don't mind how drunk you are and will help you to your seat if necessary.

| Hope your lad is back at The Willows sooner rather than later Tall Red.
Fortunately stories like this are rare but it is a cause for concern. For decades the Police have been able to treat football fans with contempt. I have been struck by a police baton before for simply asking a reasonable question. Just because the minority misbehave does not give a police officer the excuse to act irresponsibly against innocent parties.
His comment aimed at you about it being 'your fans' displays alarming immaturity. As Diavolo Rosso says, good for you making the complaint although I wouldnt expect anything to be done about it.

| I took my parents to the game and they said that on the train back to Urmston there were a couple of Salford lads boasting about t***ing a copper. But also that the other Salford fans were moving away slowly.
Lesson being: usual meathead tendency came out for a local derby and ruined it for everyone else of both persuasions.
But good on Salford for bringing a good away following.

| A boisterous away following, that ought to be envied by most SL clubs, with absolutely no hint of malice, set upon by the bouncers.
I got into the ground with at least 1 hour to go with my father and godfather to beat the rain, and saw a couple of Warrington "meatheads" clearly giving the wink to one of the bouncers, the bouncer was smirking. I could identify him very easily.
Not sure if he was involved in this incident but he was not there to keep the peace.

| The stewards at that game were appaling. One of them was huge and started on this 16 year Salford fan when he was nowhere near the trouble. The words roid rage come to mind.

| It all kicked off right in front of me the kids (9 &13) and Jo's family. We were behind the crush barrier where it all happened.
Yes the salford supporters there were being idiots. From the off they were doing the usual wire chants however as boisterous as they were they weren't causing any trouble. Then in the second half for some reason more bouncers turned up and some police arrived. Once the Police arrived things started to change. They guys started doing all the anti police chants they could think of. Then at one point as something messed up during the game, one of them threw a full placky glass of beer down aimed at the police. This was like a red rag to a bull and you could see the police were after someone. They then however decided to get 2 young lads. The first went quietly. The second tried to dodge them for a bit. When the copper got his hands on him that's when it all went tits up. A women who I can only presume was the lads mum grabbed the copper and started pulling him off with a few other guys. This caused the police who were there and the bouncers with them to charge in ( to protect their officer). At this point the fists and hats went flying. Followed by what must have been 20 keystone cops arriving and wading in.
For what its worth we were stood with a few wire supporters. All of which couldn't understand why the police had come for these 2 lads inparticular as they hadn't been doing anything worth chucking out for that we could see, and they were stood right directly in front of us.
At the end of it all they got the lad and off they went.
At the end of the game when we came out. The 2 lads were just outside the stadium. So they had just been flung out and not arrested.
Now if the police knew they were going to do this why couldn't they have made this clear when they approached the 2 lads instead of just trying to heavy handedly grab them and pull them out?
Yes the salford supporters ( if you can call them that) were being a right royal pain in the . Yes they were a disgrace to the club and us fellow supporters who had to explain to the wire supporters we were chatting with that they didn't share a brain cell between them. And the club would be better off without them.
However the police and bouncers made a huge issue out of seemingly nothing. Came in far to heavy handedly and caused the whole event to escalate to a situation it would never have reached had they either left things alone or gone about things differently.
