| Quote Karlos13="Karlos13"Any Hull KR fan who bought a ticket for the Leeds game got half price tickets for Wakey/Celtic/Salford at home. Looks like you are more desperate to pull in decent crowds than you are letting on.

In the south stand you idiot, the stand where we put the dullers when we play them. The east stand is passholders only and the main stand is sold out every game. Yes there was this option against the less supported teams like yourselves

At last I think you've finally got it, although if you want to compare the last twenty years of your attendances to ours be my guest.
What I don't think you get remains the fact that if you were to pull in crowds of 20,000 week in week out this year it wouldn't make one jot of difference in hkr's silverware department to ours would it. Go away you obsessed freak.
As for free tickets, if somebodys unlucky enough to be given one, fair play I say as they get to watch the same pile of sh[ii[/it I have to endure every Friday night.

| I can sort of understand seaon ticket holders being annoyed at people around them getting in for free, although personally it doesn't bother me in the slightest. If watching Salford at the Willows was made free for everyone I would still happily donate y £160 (or whatever it was) each year to the club.
Any season ticket holders who are feeling down about this should perhaps remember that your £160 paid for a new Salford jersey, free entrance to all Academy fixtures, free entry to our first (and probably only?!) Cup game and half price tickets for the Magic Weekend.
Once you subtract all of that (as well as the warm feeling you get by being a ST holder?!) we're not paying all that much for each game we watch at home.

| and one final thought on this........
After Friday's game, maybe people attending for the first time on a freebie [iWILL[/i be keen to attend another RL game as a paying spectator.....
.........but it's almost certain that they'll go to the JJB and [inot [/ireturn to The Willows.

Not necessarily. I brought 3 new people to the game on Friday and they all enjoyed themselves and said they'd come again (although the £17 normal fee would probably prevent them coming often). Interestingly, the fact that we got beat didn't bother any of them and wouldn't put them off coming again; they said they enjoyed the atmosphere as being different to football, enjoyed the mixing of fans, and enjoyed being able to have a drink. All 3 of them have moved to the local are from places at least 80 miles away and don't come from areas where they are used to having a successful local sports team. I'd hazard a guess that "outsiders" are far less put off by defeat than many of the locals round here who have been brought up on a golden era for Man United.

That's not my point. Sport in general, with vastly increased TV and news coverage is much higher profile that at any time in the past, and as a result of unprecedented local success I'm suggesting that we have a generation of sports fans locally to whom winning is all that matters - people who would much rather see us beat Swinton by 70 points than lose to Saints by 2. We also have a local "armchair" culture that we have to overcome, as people have become increasingly used to "supporting" their team without going to games to the extent that watching sport in the flesh doesn't really cross their minds.

now that i agree with, and to be honest it's the reason i have started going to salford regular (season ticket holder for 3 seasons)
because i could no longer afford a season ticket at united as my 2 lads wanted to go, so i get myself, my dad (who still has his old trafford season ticket) my 2 lads and nephew a salford season ticket for the price of a united.
because i think you should go and watch your team.

| I saw two mates at the game yesterday that I've not seen for a long time. They've certainly not been on the Willows for a good few number of years. It turns out they're the lottery anyway to support the club and got a pair of these tickets. They came to the game and, as far as I'm aware, enjoyed themselves. Service in the Tavern aside, anyway.
Whether they'll come back or not I'm yet to find out. But if it pulls people in like that, then surely it's a good thing? Eventually, people will start to come back.
