I,ve been a season ticket holder from 1971. And I,m over the moon about wembley. Yet at this moment I,m in Spain on holiday and I get back on the 20th, well after the sell buy date. I,m lucky our kid is getting my ticket as I left my season ticket with him before I left. But how many other true fans who through no fault of their own are away at this time and now cannot get a ticket because of those people who never go near the ground now think it's great to go to wembley. The open to anybody date is a sham.

What's this "true fan" thing? I'll have 25k+ "true" Wire fans either side of me at Wembley, some of whom I've stood with since I was a little kid and a couple of whom haven't got to a game since 1990. And it'll be an honour to be there with all of them.

As a Saints fan, I've a fair bit of recent experience in buying CC Final tickets (not this year, granted

) and have never bothered with going through the club to buy tickets.



Often disorganised, almost always a rush for tickets in the first few days etc.



Get on to the RFL website, or phone them. They'll sort you with tickets at the Warrington end.

Yes, this might have been relevant in 1974, or maybe even 1990, but you can phone the RFL, or even get to an internet cafe, and order tickets from Spain.
