I think we would be crazy to go into next season with a half back pairing of Myler and Monaghan (that's if Briers does leave). But whatever Smith decides to go with I will trust.
250k is way too much to be asking for IMO though. He is going well at the moment but a fee that large for a player as untested as he is could turn out to be a disaster.

If we have to face another year of Monaghan at halfback, I think I'll cry. It's actually making me sad watch him now. He needs to go back to the NRL, tear it up, and let us chat amongst ourselves about why we make players look bad.

Or it could be a fantastic move where you get a great player for the next 10 years. A fee is going to have to be paid after he contract is up anyway. |

I agree a fee of that amount if far too much, and there are no guarantees we hold onto him for 10 years anyway. He isn't going to sign a contract for 10 years now is he...... |

Very true and it is a fixed formula that anybody can see on the RFL website. Myler's fee would be about £10k; I think we could stretch to that. |
