Making more or less every young couple pay stamp duty when buying their first home.....until they'd creamed that bucket dry and granted a temporary repreive

How can you blame any party on a world wide recession? One of the reasons that this country is probably in more of a mess than some others is that is a hub if not the major hub for the financial world. It has had to be this way because the toerags - the last time they were in - vertually got rid of all our manufacturing industries and anything that we produced was put to one side in favour of global trade. Thanx Maggie. I do wish people would have a few days off watching the rubbish on the news, radio and the utter crap in the news papers and open their eyes. The only thing I have against any Labour government is that they seem to make everything harder with their bureaucracy.

If people really voted based on who the newspaper they bought supported then we really do have problems!

Don't matter who is in power - its a losing battle trying to get re-elected when so many companies every week are going under and people losing their jobs. More people benefitted than not with this government (myself included) in charge and took all the cream, but now the world as gone pop.......

Still don't stop certain employees going on strike at every opportunity though - lets bring the trade unions into it....

I wondered how long it would be before someone started to blame Maggie.







Where did I blame them for the recession? I'm blaming them for not having anything in the bottom drawer for a rainy day, which after 10 years of unprecedented boom, shouldn't have been too difficult.



You dont have to be Chancellor to realise the boom could not go on and spending the money as fast as it came in wasn't the best policy to adopt.







We ran out of economically produced coal, they could mine in in South American and ship it hear cheaper than we could produce it, and those people on the other side of the world will work for a bowl of rice a day. We could not, and still cannot, compete. Sad but true, but certainly not Maggies fault. Labour havn't been too sharp on inward investment in the last 12 years either.



There is no incentive whatsoever to set up a business in the UK under Labour. You take all the risk and if you are sucessful, give half the profit to them. You can do well, pay your taxes, and if it then goes wobbly they thank you for the tax you generated then run off with the brolly.



Ask yourself why so many move their operational HQ to places like Ireland, but still trade out of the UK. Its not just about saving money, its about being hammered by tax and red tape.







Mine are wide open and I can see the ordinary working man and woman is being shafted by this Government.



They give us Minimum Wages which means we earn just above any worthwhile tax credit available, and take away MIRAS, married persons allowance, 10p tax rate, and increase National Insurance, whilst having to pay full Council Tax and rent if you're in a council house.

We were never in a boom, this country has sustained steady growth upto this recession. And if the banks were still in the hands of the tories we would be in a right mess.

Coal is just the tip of the iceberg with what the tories did to industry in this country and there still is enough coal under our soil that could have been economically mined had it not been for two absolute idiots that loved to see their faces on the front pages and on the tv trying to become historical figures. Well they have both on a par with Hitler. The reason it is not economical now is all the sites have been built on and it would take multi billions to clear and start a fresh. As for the bottom draw who the hell has been keeping our banks afloat and where do you think these trillions have come from to do this.
