Oh i'm not naive enough to realise its not about money. But i just think that if he wanted to try to redeem himself with the town, club and fans (who paid his wages to buy the sh$t) that another course may have been wiser...

I still don't see why this is a two year ban. Yes it's illegal but he wasn't taking it to get an edge over his opponents. For me a sentence or probably a fine would have been fair enough. Why do the rfl interefere with off field incidents like this but don't do anything about assaults like Feka/Cockayne/Pryce and they only banned Long and Gleeson for less than a year for betting on their own team to lose. Far more bringing the game into disrepute than what Hock has done (=redPlease do not even allege such things. DaveO

Regardless of the fact he's done the interview for money, its obvious that he knows he's cocked up and he wants to get clean and make up for it. If everything he says in that interview is true then I wouldn't have a problem with having him back at Wigan in 2 years time.

It's a two year ban because the RFL sign up the WADA rules and regulations and the those rules say if you take Cocaine you get a two year ban. Simple.
Everybody including Hock knew this beforehand so its pointless saying its harsh because he knew what the penalty was and that it was not going to change because other players have done things some people consider worse.
