Whilst ordering at Wakefield's premier eatery I overheard a conversation between a player and a lass he knew.

In response to the question 'who are you here with?' the player responded ' The lads... we are suppose to be training but we came here instead'

fair play i wouldnt train for kear either, some of the stories i have been told by players.

Some of our squad, I hope, are planning for a career after being a full-time pro, because they aren't good enough. And that's regardless of whether they sack off training or not. Fact is, if the club hadn't gone through what it had over the winter, they'd have been at Dewsbury, Batley or lower and nowhere near a Super League squad.

Sadly, I don't think garden leave will be effected and JK will leave after the last match and go for a lap of honour a la Mitch Brennan!
We should remember the good times but recently has been hard to stomach.
I put more effort in when I go for a download.

Rumour has it that half the squad will be grillers at Nandos or Barrista's Costa Coffee.

Joking aside, I am quite shocked at the lack of professionalism shown.

The players have been out boozing and doing stuff they shouldn't for a long time. They may think they'll sweat it out in training and make up for it, but results and performances say otherwise. Maybe if you're good enough you can do it, but if you haven't got the brain to realise that you'll have a long life after rugby to act like an idiot on the pop, then what can be done?

The day after a match is not a 'training' day, it is usually rehab and recovery, the players will have been in early doors so unless the players were in 'Nandos' at 9am, then where is the problem?

At the end of the day If any player decides to go out on the lash/ or skip training they will pay for it by putting thier own pro-rugby career in doubt.

I would like to think that at least the players who will be here next year will be working hard in training and concentrating on doing their best for themselves and the club.

The players will get back what they put in, If they put in many gym, swimming, running sessions and work hard whilst moderating their diet they will reap the benefits.
