I'd have McGoldrick in the 17 but for who I don't know. Made difficult by the impressive performance of Milner and Arundel yesterday.'"
You can't think he'd make that much difference then!

Owen for Dixon, yep
Holmes, i'd leave him be he did not look out of place.
Milner and Arundle earned a starting shirt.

He made more metres than any of Cas player last season and his go forward is significant in our attacking style.
But he obviously won't dislodge Mathers at full-back or Orr and Chase at half-back. The only realistically place for him is on the bench or at centre.
I'd maybe have him at centre but I think we've brought Isa over for a reason so it would be silly of us not to play him. I'm so glad I'm not Terry Matterson.
Do you want McGoldrick on loan?

Penaltys are all well and good but when you get the amount that he was dolling out yesterday they are much more of a hinderence than a help, the game was never allowed to flow more than 4 tackles on the trot so basisally stopped any kind of movement and kept the game closer that it otherwise may have been.

I am sad to say that yes I would have him on loan. I think that shows how bad things are at the moment!

He can play at FB so he definitely meets this seasons criteria, so it's (sadly) a yes from our Newton Hill judge!!

| Quote The Clan="The Clan"But who would they replace and would you be a stronger team with the changes?
IMO no!
We were rusty also,
Milner is already a better hooker and dummy half than Hudson and you were stronger with him in the team.'"
Isa or mcgoldrick would have been at centre, ferres would have been loose, owen would have replaced dixon, aspinwall would have replaced jones, and fozzard pulled up just before the game and was replaced by jackson.
I know you were rusty also, just making the point we will play far better than that as the year goes on.
Milner is quality but hudsons defence is very good and as good as milner is having play nearly as the game blunted his effectivness, when a team loses a player early on it makes things harder for the remaining 16.

| Quote tigerman10="tigerman10"Don't really want to get into all this but I will bite this once, Had it not been for the ref yesterday I think it would have been a real landslide win for us. Just because we won the penalty count by a country mile it does not follow that it did us any good. In reality all it did was hinder us and stop us getting any sort of a flow, and even the most ardent of your fans would have to admit at some point were that game allowed to flow yesterday we would have run you off the park.
Anyway I will leave it at that and not turn it into yet another slanging thread but I think and its only my opinion but come the end of the season we will be in with a shout of the playoffs. Also if you can get some new players on board without loesing too many of your existing ones I am sure you wont come bottom.'"
Not sure I agree, you may well have benefited from a more free flowing game , but when a side has played 20mins with 12 men, it effects the sides fitness immensely and that showed when you got your final 2 tries. It probably did help Wakey for it to be a bit scrappy, but it did us no favors getting penalised nearly twice as much as well as the 2 sin bins. I would have liked to have seen the match end with 13 v 13 on both sides because it was brewing up to be a good finish, before the Mllard sin binning.
I liked the fact that the lads, showed some fight and got themselves back into the game at 20-28. If we could add a touch of power in the forwards and a playmaker/kicker and still show the effort and fight they showed, we should win a few.

| i cant fault the attitude the wakey team showed, imo you couldnt have played any better with 17 players you had on the field.child ruined the game and was equally bad for both sides that said i dont think the scre flattered cas despite a patchy performance we bombed at least 3 chances and the goal kicking was poor to say the least which kept you in the game for a long time, with a bit more fluency it would have been 50 or 60 points .
i thought rinaldi made a difference when he was on the field and the young prop worked hard but you after worry for him with that work load on a week to week basis that he doesnt burn out.
all in all a it was pretty much how i expected the game to go you will win a few games but if you pick up injuries its going to be a long year has i feel you may just struggle to recruit any quality players now the season has started.
