Dunno mate, I don't have agents ringing me up to tell me. I do know that the last 2 overseas wingers we've signed at the ends of their careers would lead me to believe it's not the greatest idea in the world to sign another one

Difference with Meli is he's already over and is performing. You're right bringing over someone at the back end of their career is always a gamble, it's my belief we'd get 2 good years out of Meli which will allow time for Lyne to develope into our future wingman.

It's one thing signing a prop who's in his 30's, but a winger FFS. meli was never very quick anyway and by the time he's 33 he'll need a 10 metre start on whiting.



Still, one positive is that our wingers barely get a pass anyway so it probably won't matter who is there

I think Whiting already knows how good a finisher Meli is as he put 4 tries past him earlier in the season and he'll finish the season with well over 20 at the rate he's going. If we use his greatest assets his size and strength we'll get good service out of him until Lyne is ready for a full time roll in the team.

Our current top try scorer has less than half the tries pat richards has scored so I'd hardly take that as any indication that we use our wingers effectively.

In my opinion, signing 30 something players who are no longer required at the likes of wigan and saints isn't the way to build a squad capable of competing with the likes of wigan and saints, although it does allow people to reflect on what might have been if we didn't get so many injuries

How long would you give this player to "develop" ?. Wigan aren't interested unless there's an injury crisis . Woeful under an high ball .
