Laffranchi has been signed to play in Jammer's spot next season.

We're signing Gareth Carvell on a free and Ben Harrison for £22.5m. We've also put a cheeky £9.5m bid in for Chris Hill from Leigh.

After watching saints under Royce and seeing how he likes to set his team up, I think laffranchi will play at loose forward but act as a 3rd prop in the way he uses TP at 13.



Laffranchi is the perfect player to play this role and I think thats why he's gone for laffranchi.



It's obvious he likes the big man at loose but acting as 3rd prop as he plays TP, magennis and clough in that role. It's a tactic the Aussies have used over last few years.



That's why royce likes having a back on the bench, as he gets his extra prop by playing him at 13. I didn't like having a back on the bench to start with but I've come round to royces thinking and now like the idea.

It appears quite clear to me that LMS is the natural replacement to Jammer, very similar style of player

But not anywhere near the same quality.

Darrell Griffin!

I like griffin and always have done but we should have signed him about 3yr ago. He'd still do a job but I think he's not the same player he used to be.

Willy Manu is coming to saints (in my mind)

Read today griffin wants to move over pennines. Wigan, saints and widnes mentioned but can't see him moving from hudds to widnes?

I know saints are in the Market for another forward but thought it looked to be hill from Leigh.

We could do alot worse than Darrell Griffin, especially when we're in the market for a British prop.

I agree, he'd do a job for us and he's British. Perry, LMS, TP and laffranchi would do me.



The only problem he's in contract until next year so we'd need to pay a fee for him unless hudds would be kind enough to let him leave for free.

Looked good this season, has got himself fit, bulked up muscle wise and has probably been our most consistent prop, unlucky not to be in England squad IMO. Contract runs till end of 2012 but unsure what gonna happen cos been signing players up 4-5 years but Griff not one of em yet

Very good prop but think he's getting on a little now.

I though Sts would be looking for a barnstormer and I think the Italian fellow was a LF. If he is supposed to cover both LF and prop, I would be surprised. Thought Sts would have gone for a Carvell, Morley type. Someone who bosses about in prop.
